WATCH: Female fan almost passes out after having hand injured by powerful Lionel Messi shot

Lionel Messi has finally crossed the line from awe-inspiring to downright dangerous.

The Barcelona superstar is often praised for his creativity, first touch and shooting accuracy but his shot power is seldom discussed. That may be about to change after scenes in Spain at the weekend proved that the Argentine has a rocket of a left peg on him. Early on during Barcelona's 2-2 draw at Villareal on Sunday afternoon, Messi let rip with a monster strike towards the near post. It was always rising and glanced over the woodwork where a female fan behind the goal attempted to get her hands behind it. But such was the ferocity of the shot that it appeared as though the Villareal supporter badly injured her wrist.

After fighting the urge to pass out in her seat, medical staff arrived to treat her but she slumped into their arms after a few short steps. We hope she's not too badly hurt and we wouldn't be at all surprised to see Messi do the right thing by sending her a bunch of flowers. Let this be a lesson to all fans behind the goal - when a Messi shot is flying towards you, duck and let the person behind you deal with it.
