And he was lucky to get away with just a red card to be honest. Bruno Alves threw caution to the wind, he threw the word friendly in the trash, and he threw himself flying through the air and straight for the head of Harry Kane, studs first.
With no regard for the ball - or Kane's brain - the Portugal defender, currently playing his football with Fenerbahçe, abandoned his experience and the occasion as he sparked fire in a dull friendly from nowhere.
England weren't exactly setting the world alight throughout a goalless first half - just in time for Euro 2016 - and the only talking point from the game's first period was Bruno Alves' dangerous moment of madness.
And, my, what a moment it was.
