Real Madrid closed the gap on their city rivals again this weekend with a win over Barcelona at a wet and windy Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, with Karim Benzema once again the star of the show. His 13th minute goal put Madrid in the driving seat from the early stages, with Toni Kroos adding a second just 15 minutes later. And while Barcelona had the lions share of possession and one more shot, Madrid emerged with those all important points to reduce the gap between themselves an Atlético Madrid to just one point.
Diego Simeone's Atléti side could only muster a draw away to Real Betis, with Yannick Carrasco scoring their only goal of the game before Cristian Tello's equaliser.
There were some other games on too. Quini scored a belter for Granada, while Gabriel Paulista, formerly of Arsenal, sent in a thumping header to salvage a point for Valencia. Watch the best goals below.
