One of our favourite football adages is "could they do it on a rainy night in Stoke?"
But we may very well have to change that to "could they do it on a rainy day in Montpellier?" The conditions at the Stade de la Mosson were as bad as they get when Montpellier hosted Caen in Ligue 1 this afternoon. The home side came out 1-0 winners but the victory did not come easy as the waterlogged pitch proved a tricky surface for both sets of players.
