In a way, it's actually an achievement to hit the crossbar from there.
Roberto Soldado somehow managed to miss from five yards last night. The Tottenham Hotspur striker had a open goal in front of him but smashed his shot off the crossbar, missing the chance to equalise for his side, who were, at the time, 1-2 down to Burnley.
Spurs overcame the deficit, eventually winning 4-2, to progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup where they will face Leicester City. However, Soldado didn't make amends for his miss, failing to get on the score sheet.
The Spaniard has struggled since signing for Spurs in 2013 for £26 million, scoring 15 goals in 55 games and has recently lost his place to Harry Kane.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino defended the out of form striker after the game, saying: 'He knows that we support him. It is always tough for a striker when he doesn't score, but I am very happy with his performance'. Really Mauricio?
