Nothing stops David Meyler during a counter attack.
The Hull midfielder was like a man possessed when he came on for an injured Stephen Ward midway through the second half. His demented desire to counter was such that not even Spanish referee Carlos Carballo could stop Meyler from breaking with the ball. The Corkman muscled the cumbersome Carballo out of the way as he looked to get Ireland on the front foot while the Germans continued their search for a late equaliser.
