When you remember a goal for all the wrong reasons
Antonio Candreva should be feeling pretty good about himself this morning.
After all, yesterday saw him net a stunning winner for Lazio against Palermo lifted the Roman side to fourth in Serie A.
However, instead he is nursing an injured knee and wounded pride after his attempt at celebrating his goal with the home fans went horribly wrong.
Candreva tried to scale a fence to join supporters but instead slid horribly into the metal barrier, hurting his knee in the process. The Italian limped away and was unable to play any further part in the game, but thankfully, according to manager Stefano Pioli, the forward is not seriously injured.
'Fortunately it doesn't appear to be anything serious, Pioli said. 'I prefer all injuries to be accompanied by a winning goal.'
And what a goal it was.
