We always wondered whether referees secretly loved sending players off.
And judging by this Brazilian referee, they absolutely adore it.
During the infamous clash between Flamengo and Vasco da Gama (A.K.A. the Classico dos Milhoes) at the weekend, a melee broke out on the pitch.
The referee in charge didn't panic as the players clashed in the centre of the park. Rather, he just giggled with glee at the thought of how many players he could send off.
After the dust settled, the referee dished into his pocket and thrusted his trusty red card in the direction of four involved in the brawl, sending Flamengo pair Paulinho and Anderson Pico, as well as Vasco’s Bernardo and Pablo Guinazu for an early and crowded shower.
