Just when some of Chelsea's antics last night had threatened to destroy all of our faith in football, a team from Jordan restored it.
Al Wehdat beat Al Nahdah of Oman in the Asian Football Cup on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning our time) to top their group but they did it with real class, too.
Late in the game, two goals to the good, their clinical striker Mahmoud Za'tara went through one-on-one with the goalie ready to hit the net again before he turned and kicked the ball away owing to an injured player in the opposition side.
Za'tara received plaudits from the crowd, the goalkeeper and more of the opposing team who were thankful for his genuine act of sportsmanship.
And sure it all worked out anyway, they managed to bag another goal before full time and won 3-0.
