Public speaking can be very nervy experience. Just ask any Best Man.
It's a long held piece of wisdom that a couple of carefully timed drinks will lighten the tongue before taking to the stage. 'Couple', 'carefully' and 'timed' being the key words in that sentence. Louis van Gaal is an accomplished public speaker, so probably operates on a different system to the rest of us and has no need for a few looseners. Though this wondrous eight minute speech at Manchester United's Player of the Year awards on Tuesday night would make you think otherwise. But we're sure he's really stone cold sober and is just excited to be addressing the fans. Sit back and enjoy the speech in all its wonder.
