There was an undeniable sense of football taking a back seat when England hosted France in an international friendly on Tuesday night.
Four days removed from the horrific terror attacks in Paris that left 129 dead and hundreds of others injured, Didier Deschamps took his France side to Wembley where the victims of the attacks were honoured with a minute's silence.
It was observed perfectly but what stood out most was the rousing rendition of La Marseillaise as English fans and French fans united in one of the most powerful choruses of a national anthem that you're ever going to hear.
It truly is hair-raising.
