But it wouldn't be the craziest idea judging by the absurdly safe hands of the dog.
The adorable little fella saves a crazy 30 of the 32 shots faced in this two minute video, the majority of which he catches safely into his chest.
And the ones that don't stick, he manages to claw away from the danger that would come in the shape of hypothetical onrushing poachers.
A particular highlight comes with an effort on the 48 second mark that he touches onto the post in glorious fashion.
We haven't seen him deal with crosses yet but, dammit, we're impressed.
