Adelaide United were hosting Brisbane Roar this morning in the Australian A league and already trailed their visitors 1-0 when a long ball was punted towards the Adelaide box.
Goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic,clearly emboldened by being named man-of-the match-last week against Sydney decided to charge to meet it despite being well outside of his area.
It didn't end well.
You can almoost see the look of panic on his face as he realises he can't catch the ball and decided instead to punt it up into the air...towards his own unguarded net.
He still could have rescued the situation but instead of catching he did his best 'Flappy Bird' impression as it sailed into the net.
As they say in Australia,totally tragic
Adelaide went on to lose the game 3-2.
