The future's bright at Sunderland. The near future, not so much.
Gus Poyet's side sit just three points above the relegation zone and, at this rate, there could be grimmer times ahead. Alright, they were hardly going full pelt in an in-house game with their U8 side but some of them were caught taken the youngsters for granted, too. The Mackems' youth were flying in with full-hearted challenges, nicking ball back off the seniors and waltzing around them with some fine bits of footwork. It got that bad at a stage that Adam Johnson actually resorted to diving in a bid to get any sort of change out of the opposition.
