Few people encapsulate the untapped potential of English football like Paul Gascoigne.
25 years on from Italia 90, and Gazza's iconic tear-filled moment, a new documentary is set for a one-night only screening, exploring the midfield genius' life both on and off the pitch.
Judging from the trailer, the film looks like it'll be pulling hard on the heart strings.
Gary Lineker, Wayne Rooney and Jose Mourinho all wax lyrical on Gascoigne's skill, with Rooney almost managing to show some emotion. Give the director an Oscar for that alone.
The bulk of the film will be narrated by Gazza himself, with producer Nick Taussig, whose credits also include Plan B's Ill Manors, saying: 'We want to capture him in a slightly different way from the way he is captured by the tabloids.'
From an Irish perspective, SportsJOE are delighted to see Terry 'Tezza' Wogan chatting with Gazza back in 1990. The Irish broadcaster, working for BBC at the time, has some pretty prophetic words to say about the Geordie's future career.
Gascoigne will screen in cinemas across the UK on June 8, before coming out on DVD a week later.
