Real Sociedad gave former player, and Republic of Ireland striker, John Aldridge a hero's reception. The Liverpudlian was the first foreign footballer to play for the Basque side, and was guest of honour at yesterday's game.
Aldridge signed for Sociedad in 1989 and had an impressive strike rate, scoring 40 times in 75 games, before returning to English football in 1991.
