The north qualified for their first major tournament in what will be 30 years and the Republic - well, they only went and beat the world champions.
But they weren't sitting on the fence in Derry as St. Columb's Hall in the city centre came to a standstill to tune in to the action in Dublin.
And it's easy to see that they enjoyed Shane Long's unbelievable strike as the country went and beat Germany 1-0.
