It's a real shame when someone comes to our attention and only becomes known for that own goal they scored... but Jordi Balk, step forward.
Playing in the second tier in Netherlands, Balk's side FC Oss travelled to Eindhoven to keep their hopes of reaching the Eredivisie alive but the defender had other ideas.
With game goalless, Balk put an end to the monotony with a moment of madness/magic. Probably the latter if you're not one of those FC Oss supporters lying around this island.
The ball came to him outside the corner of the box and, with an attacker bearing down on him, he decided to just put the team out of their misery and curled a beaut right over his own 'keeper and into the net.
The team ended up losing 2-1.
