If you make an audacious claim, you better be able to back it up.
When David James stated on Match of the Day that Sergio Romero was the best goalkeeper at Old Trafford, he was unable to support it.
Well, he tried, but his "proof" using clean sheet statistics was completely arbitrary. James pointed out that Romero has three clean sheets while De Gea has only kept one since returning to the United goal. After presumably spending some time working out that three is a bigger number than one, James came to the conclusion that this stat is a sure sign that the Argentine is a better shot-stopper.
He didn't stop there though. James capped it all off with another incredible claim, that Real Madrid never actually wanted de Gea in the first place.
