When he broke through the ranks at Arsenal, fans all over the country had high hopes for David Bentley.
The midfielder was hyped up as the next David Beckham but his career never reached those heights.
At the age of just 29, Bentley decided he could no longer continue as a professional player and retired from the game.
Appearing on BT Sport's Fletch and Sav, the former England international explained how being a footballer had just become so mundane for him after the excitement that he felt during the beginning of his career.
It's an interesting insight into the world of being a professional athlete.
