The Southampton attacker was the toast of the club's awards dinner last night when he scooped the goal of the season award after initially thinking that he had 'no chance.'
Long's second strike in the 6-1 win against Villa last week topped the list ahead of some clinkers but when asked how it rated amongst the Shane Long great goals, he quipped, "there's not many to pick from".
But this one was a beauty.
