All this nonsense we go through from kick-offs. Ways to not lose the ball, to put the opposition under pressure, kick and chase, work it through them cleverly, get it back to the 'keeper and just get set.
Cork City Women's FC have the best idea: just score. Just give the ball to Maggie Duncliffe and score.
The Rebels beat Castlebar Celtic last week 4-0 but it was Duncliffe's outrageous effort from all of 50 yards that stole the show. Right from the kick-off, the Cork player took one step forward and lofted a beauty high and accurate towards the Castlebar goals.
It caught the 'keeper unaware, she should've done better, but the audacity and execution from Duncliffe deserves serious credit.
