Ched Evans has scored on his debut for Chesterfield.

The striker signed for the League One side on a one-year deal this summer, four years after playing his last game of football. Evans was jailed in 2012 for the alleged rape of a 19-year-old woman and served half of a five-year sentence but, earlier this year, an appeal was successful and Evans' conviction was quashed. https://twitter.com/ChesterfieldFC/status/744884872662122497?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw The 27-year-old lined out for his new club in a friendly against Ilkeston this weekend, scoring one and setting up another in a 3-0 victory. "I am very excited and privileged to be resuming my career at Chesterfield and I hope to make a valuable contribution both on and off the pitch for the football club, the fans and the community," Evans said after signing his contract. The former Wales international will face a retrial in October.
