Transfers: Manchester United confident €102m wage offer will lure Neymar from Barcelona

The rumours are not dying down, but there are still far-fetched.

The Sun is a dog with a bone on this Neymar-to-United story. If it turns out to be true, they will surely walk taller around their London Bridge Street offices. This morning, the newspaper claims United are not going to flinch over Barcelona's valuation of the Brazilian. It will cost United £130m (€177m) to take Neymar off Barca's hands and another £75m (€102m) salary, over five years, to keep him cosy. Expect a Neymar pay-rise from Barcelona to finally put this tale to bed. Another transfer that is looking highly unlikely is Karim Benzema to Arsenal, or anyone for that matter. The Daily Mirror have been quick to respond to the impudent thumbs-up. They claim that Arsenal have already moved on and are now keen to bring in PSG's Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani before the transfer window closes. West Ham manager Slaven Billic is desperate to add some pace, and attacking threat to his team. To that end, he has targeted Chelsea winger Victor Moses, Tottenham's Aaron Lennon and Manchester United's Adnan Januzaj. Getting in two of that three would representing a couple of coups.
