Transfer talk: Seamus Coleman and James McCarthy could find themselves elsewhere come August

It could be the case of an Antrim departure and a Donegal arrival at Old Trafford this summer.

Manchester United are so determined to secure the signature of Everton right back Seamus Coleman that they are willing to up their approach for the 26-year-old to a cash plus Jonny Evans offer. Everton have insisted that Coleman is not for sale but the Red Devils look to test their resolve by dangling a Premier League winner in front of them. Evans has dropped down the pecking order at Old Trafford since Louis van Gaal's arrival and with talk of the Dutchman's undying interest in Sergio Ramos, the Northern Ireland international would not be criticised for going elsewhere in search of first team football. Balotelli scored just once in his 15 Premier League games for the Reds but new Newcastle boss Steve McClaren is ready to take the gamble with the former Inter, Manchester City and AC Milan striker. A Republic of Ireland international could also be on the move with reports in the Daily Mail that Spurs are considering a move for James McCarthy. Spurs have been fans of the Glasgow-born player for years and the North London club are now confident that McCarthy has matured to the point that he can control the centre of the park at White Hart Lane.
