Transfer talk: Liverpool looking to bring Real Madrid winger to Anfield

Liverpool are the heart of a hipstery transfer rumour this morning.

The Reds are lining up a move for Real Madrid's Russian winger Denis Cheryshev, according to reports in Spain. You would be forgiven for not knowing the midfielder who has never made a single first team appearance for Los Blancos, despite being at the club for over 13 years. Cheryshev came through Madrid's youth academy, was one of the stars that inspired Real Madrid B to win promotion to the Segunda Division, but has thus far failed to break into the senior squad. The 24-year-old has spent this season on loan at Villarreal, where he has enjoyed great success. Cheryshev has bagged four league goals and nailed down a first-team spot for El Submarino Amarillo, which has apparently caught the eye of Brendan Rodgers. Cheryshev won't come cheap though, despite the fact that he doesn't appear to be wanted at the Bernabeu. The La Liga giants have reportedly set an asking price of £16m for the player. Manchester United could be willing to take a hit to offload flop Angel di Maria. Paris Saint-Germain are keeping a close eye on the Argentine's movements and are ready to launch a £45m bid this summer, according to the Mirror. Di Maria was heavily linked with PSG at the start of the season before the Financial Fair Play rules saw the deal fall through, allowing the Red Devils to snap him up for a whopping £60m. After an extremely lacklustre run of form in his first year in England, United could may be prepared to take a £15m loss to get di Maria off their books. Tottenham have made a play to beat Arsenal in the race to sign Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin, according to the Evening Standard. Spurs are apparently offering England winger Andros Townsend or Benjamin Stambouli as a part-exchange deal for  the Saints midfielder. Southampton have slapped an asking price of £20m for the 25-year-old, but a player-plus-cash deal might be enough to seal his move to White Harte Lane. One player who might be on the way out of Anflied is Glen Johnson, so the Metro reports. The England international’s contract runs out in the summer, and he has only made 17 league appearances for the Reds this campaign. Johnson revealed that the club have yet to approach him over contract negotiations which has left his future with Liverpool up in the air.

The 30-year-old has been linked with a free transfer to several teams including West Ham and Barcelona.
