Transfer Talk: Liverpool line up three from Serie A as LVG demands another creative midfielder

Brendan Rodgers made a very quick stop over in Rome last week before Liverpool's clash with Crystal Palace and it wasn't to stock up on his favourite ice-cream. The Reds are desperate to bolster their squad early in the summer, and it seems that they could be about to make three signings from Serie A. According to today's Daily Express the club are lining up an ambitious €100 million swoop for Miralem Pjanic and  Radja Nainggolan from Roma as well as the Lazio forward Keita Balde Diao. Pjanic and Nainggolan are class acts and would be super signings though Liverpool fans may break out in a sweat at the surname of the Lazio man, after a pretty horrible experience with Salif Diao after the 2002 World Cup. If we were Ander Herrera we'd be thinking maybe a trip to our local cosmetic surgery might be in order after the latest comments from Louis van Gaal. The Spanish international has barely featured under the Dutchman, and now it seems the former Premier League champions are looking to sign yet another creative midfielder. According to The Mirror, LVG in his pre match press conference for tonight's FA Cup clash with Preston North End admitted that he wants to add to his already crowded midfield with strong hints yet again that Kevin Strootman is likely to be the next new face at Old Trafford. United already have Herrera, Juan Mata and Angel Di Maria while Adnan Januzaj is also in the mix, but clearly the Dutchman isn't happy with a couple of million worth of talent at his disposal already. Speculation over the future of Danny Ings is all over this morning's papers once again, with reports today suggesting he's Spain bound to meet David Moyes at Real Sociedad. The Daily Star are reporting that the 22-year-old is heading out to discuss a summer transfer that would see him earn a wage of €80,000 a week. Moyes had initially hoped to get the England man in January but its believed a deal for the striker to head to La Liga is close to being completed with a deal possibly being announced this week. Bad news for Arsenal fans as it looks like Santi Cazorla is heading to La Liga once again. According to the Daily Star the midfielder has agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid and will leave London in the summer. Cazorla has seven goals so far this season and was believed to be interesting Barcelona, but it now seems that the ex Villarreal man is going to be linking up with Diego Simone at the Vicente Calderon West Ham's bid to sign Lasanna Diarra may be revived in the summertime if Sam Allardyce still fancies the former Real Madrid man by then. According to the Daily Mirror, the midfielder,who was once on the books at Portsmouth, saw his move to the Hammers blocked in January by Fifa, over issues surrounding his current contract with Lokomotiv Moscow. Diarra has had an eventful career with spells at Chelsea and Arsenal as well as Madrid, but at 29 would represent a decent punt for the Premier League outfit if a deal be reached.
