He was the cliche king. Andy Townsend's stint as a football pundit with ITV was probably one of the most universally loathed things in football and fans got their wish today, as the former Ireland international did his last game as England beat Slovenia. The reason for his departure is that ITV opted not to renew Townsend's contract. Fans often ridiculed him for his generic analysis and a lot of people marked his departure today with tweets 'paying tribute' to him. https://twitter.com/SachinNakrani/status/610143415804776448 https://twitter.com/TheMediaTweets/status/610149436203888640 https://twitter.com/OptaJoke/status/610142695319863296 https://twitter.com/myracingtips/status/610113483888295937 https://twitter.com/Coral/status/610113021940248576 https://twitter.com/paddypower/status/610145306131451905 Fans were hard on Townsend, but will anyone secretly miss him, if only for comedic purposes?
