Mesut Özil gets more than his fair share of criticism, but the Arsenal midfielder seems to have gone up a gear recently.

The German international was one of few Gunners players to emerge from the defeat to Bayern Munich with much credit, and Arsene Wenger's side may well have suffered back-to-back defeats without his influence against Tottenham. While Spurs fans will point to missed opportunities to double their lead before Kieran Gibbs' equaliser, the hosts had chances of their own too. Özil laid on the ball for Gibbs to beat Hugo Lloris, as well as creating chances for Olivier Giroud, and the following stat shows just how much of an impact he had on the game in the final third. https://twitter.com/BenMcAleer1/status/663414649526820864
