This new nine foot tall statue Alan Shearer statue looks as strange as it sounds

Alan Shearer is a bit of a legend on his native Tyneside.

The local-boy-done-good returned to Newcastle United after winning the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers. The goal-scoring machine didn't exactly bring the trophies pouring into his boyhood club, but he's a hero none-the-less.
