Thierry Henry hopes Arsenal don’t turn out to be the new Liverpool

Thierry Henry is extremely hopeful that Arsenal will win the league again soon.

The Frenchman told L'Equipe that he hopes the Gunners do not suffer a title drought like Liverpool have done. Before every Liverpool fan across the country loses the plot altogether, Henry admitted he was surprised that the Reds were unable to capture a league title over the last quarter of a century.

"If I had told you in 1990 that Liverpool would not win the title in the next 25 years, you would have taken me for a madman. I don't want the same thing to happen to Arsenal."

The Arsenal all-time top goal scorer was positive about Arsenal's chances at winning the most coveted football trophy in England though. He claims that the club came closer to Premier League glory this year, despite being several points adrift of league leaders Chelsea. Henry feels that if they keep their current form up, it will only be a matter of time before the Gunners claim the league title again.

"It's already been 11 years. This year, we're not so far off. With the exception of the first leg against Monaco, they are on the right track, but they undoubtedly dropped too many points at the start of the season. But I think this squad can win the title in the years to come."
