The player who’s run the most so far in the Premier League is exactly who you’d expect

If you'd spoken to a Liverpool fan in the early part of the summer and the subject of James Milner cropped up, some typical phrases would be used.

"Ah, he'll run all day for you," "He's got a gas tank like an Range Rover," "You know you'll get 110% from him every game." Now, as terrible a conversation as that may be, the work ethic of Liverpool's new signing is clear for all to see with the stats on the players who have the most kilometres under their belt in the first six games this season. Milner is far and away the leader with 74.8km (46.48 miles) to his name since August. Newcastle's Jack Colback finds himself in second spot with (71.8km), followed by Bournemouth's Andrew Surman (70.8km) in third. West Ham's stellar start to the season has come, in part, from the industrious nature of Slaven Bilic's side and that's proven with the fact that three Hammers make the top 20. It's rather strange that nobody from either Manchester club, who are in the top two of the league table, make the list which would suggest that running is absolutely pointless.
