The final straw for hapless FC Grenchen was shipping ten goals to Lucerne's youth team
FC Grenchen were willing to let their team's previous eight defeats slide but the double-figured caning called for the giant, red 'Sack' button to be pressed.
Grenchen director Renato Brun said, 'It sounds brutal, but these players are not good enough for this league. I am the head of sport and there to do something when we are not running smoothly. I talk less and do more.'
Defender Dedaj Dugagjin complained of a character assassination after a list of the eleven sacked players was pinned to a noticeboard at the club's training ground.
The Swiss fourth division strugglers kept faith in their coach, Patrick Boesch, but sprinkled P45s all over the dressing room like confetti. 'It's not an issue,' shoulder-shrugged Boesch. 'Others would have long since chucked in the towel in this situation.'
