These researchers are doing God's work

We have all commented on it, or pondered it as we went in to buy our next pair for our own games, but now we finally have the figures to prove just how popular coloured boots are in the top flight in England. The folks at PA watched all the games played last weekend, crunched the numbers and produced some wonderful data. If you think data on boot colour is interesting of course. We do so here are some nuggets from the research:
  • Hull had the most black boot wearers with six
  • Leicester had the most white boot wearers with nine
  • Stoke, Chelsea, Leicester and Everton didn't have a single player wearing black boots
  • In total, only 15 per cent of players wore black boots
  • The most popular colour, by far, is white with 47 per cent.
  • As you can see below, even green is more popular these days
