Sky Sports News tweeted where Ireland’s squad is from today and people are not happy

The folks at SSN could do with a refresher on the rules of international football.
It seems that none of this was even really an issue until Gordon McQueen gave his scathing tuppence worth on Monday about Aiden McGeady and James McCarthy. Ahead of the Euro '16 qualifier with Scotland on Friday night, the Republic of Ireland duo have come in for criticism as they prepare to face their birth country and Sky Sports News have fuelled the flames even further this morning. The SSN HQ account posted a picture of the breakdown of both Scotland and Republic of Ireland squads. They offered no opinion, didn't even ask a question - just put them out there - but we know fine well what they were up to. And, for some unknown reason, they deemed it worthy to include a stat of how many Northern Ireland-born players represent Martin O'Neill's squad.The Republic of Ireland take on Scotland this Friday.
