Shelbourne winger Conan Byrne has raised over €4,500 for one of his pupils at Rush National school.

Byrne shaved his head in a fundraising effort for one of his pupils with the sixth class student having his tumor successfully removed after six sessions of treatment. According to the GoFundMe page, the child returned to school to make his confirmation with his classmates but still has to undergo a further six sessions of treatment. The fundraiser has already cleared €4,500 of a €1000 goal with the funds raised covering medical costs, a trip for the student to potentially see Liverpool, while the remaining funds will be donated to the Crumlin Children's Hospital. https://twitter.com/conanbyrnecb7/status/1134430515812081666 The boy was also paid a visit by Millwall midfielder and Ireland international Shaun Williams who said that it was his pleasure to meet such a strong young man. https://twitter.com/conanbyrnecb7/status/1133012418458804224 https://twitter.com/shaunywilliams6/status/1133043491775369216 Byrne joined Shelbourne this season after five years with St. Patrick's Athletic in Inchicore.
