Sean Maguire request from Preston shows his Cork obsession still runs deep

Could someone over in England hook Sean Maguire up so he doesn't have to fret about Cork City any more?

PNE have had a middling start to the season but a home win over Jaap Stam's men could shoot them right up the table. Maguire received a standing ovation from large sections of the home crowd on his home league debut and, after a couple more outings off the Preston bench, he would have been looking forward to getting out there again. But something else was on the 23-year-old's mind - Cork City against Sligo Rovers, of course. The striker scored 23 goals in 25 games for the Airtricity League title chasers but is missing out on the run-in after switching clubs. If Maguire was lucky to find a stream, he would have squirmed throughout much of the match. Cork need just three wins to claim the league title but they were poor against Sligo and lost 1-0. The title should still be heading to Cork and Maguire should get his winners' medal yet. No doubt about it, he will be watching every single game he can in that run-in.
