Dyche leaves Burnley 18th in the Premier League

Burnley have sacked Sean Dyche, the club have confirmed in a statement Dyche has been in charge at Burnley since 2012 and was the Premier League's longest-serving manager having been at the helm for nine years. The club revealed the news in a statement on Thursday. It read: "Burnley Football Club can confirm the Club has parted company with manager Sean Dyche, assistant manager Ian Woan, first-team coach Steve Stone and goalkeeping coach Billy Mercer. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/1514904748994043907 "Dyche was the longest-serving manager in the Premier League, having been in charge of the Clarets for nine-and-a-half years, overseeing a period which will go down as one of the most successful in the Club’s history. "During this time, the team was promoted twice from the Championship, achieved two top-half Premier League finishes and qualified for Europe for the first time in 51 years." The club's chairman then added: "Firstly, we would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Sean and his staff for their achievements at the Club over the last decade. The club's current under-23s boss Mike Jackson will take charge of first-team affairs until a permanent successor is appointed. Alongside him will also be club captain Ben Mee, academy director Paul Jenkins, and under-23s goalkeeping coach Connor King.
