Paul Scholes and Kleberson are playing a charity match in Bray next month

Two of Manchester United's greatest midfielders, together again!

It's fair to say that Paul Scholes is one of the best players to have ever worn the famous red, white and black of Manchester United. The Salford native scored 155 goals in 718 United appearances and won 25 major trophies with the club, including 11 Premier League titles. Kleberson had already won a World Cup winners' medal when he arrived at Old Trafford but he left two season later with just 30 appearances, two goals and an FA Cup victory to add to his CV. One player is remembered fondly by the United faithful while the other is often thought of as the lad Alex Ferguson signed when he was trying to lure Ronaldinho from Barcelona. The pair only played together two seasons at United but they will have a chance to trade old stories when they line out at a fundraising football match in aid of the Wicklow Hospice Foundation. Scholes and Kleberson are among a list of 11 former footballers who have already committed to playing in a Legends XI vs. Wicklow Hospice Select side at Bray's Carlisle Grounds on September 15. Alan Earls, one of the organisers, was in touch with SportsJOE about the event and he confirmed that Scholes and Kleberson will be joined by former United stars Brian McClair, Clayton Blackmore and Keith Gillespie. Alan Kennedy, a European Cup hero with Liverpool, will also be togging out as well as Celtic legends Stiliyan Petrov, Tom Boyd and Lubo Moravcik. Scholes was also confirmed for the Liam Miller Tribute Match, in Cork, on September 25 so he'll be looking to get up to match fitness at the Bray event. Tickets for the game are €10 each and there will be a meet-and-great in Bray's Martello venue a little while before the 3pm kick-off.
