Ruben Amorim has responded after Ed Sheeran apologised to him after interrupting his post-match interview with Sky Sports at last Sunday's game against Ipswich Town.
When asked about the incident on Wednesday, the new Manchester United manager praised Roy Keane, who was on punditry duty during the segment.
Amorim could only lead his side to a 1-1 draw in his first game in charge of Manchester United.
Marcus Rashford scored after just 80 seconds in what was an emphatic start to Amorim's tenure but they couldn't hold onto the lead as Omari Hutchinson levelled just before half-time.
Neither side was able to find a winner in the second half and they had to settle for a point each.
Following the game, as Amorim spoke to the Sky Sports panel about the game, Sheeran who is an Ipswich fan and minority owner crashed his interview.
The 33-year-old singer came over and hugged pundit Jamie Redknapp as Amorim looked on until he could resume his interview.
After receiving backlash on social media, Sheeran apologised to the new United boss.
He wrote on Instagram:
“Apologies if I offended Amorim yesterday, I didn’t realise he was being interviewed at the time, was popping to say hi and bye to Jamie. Obvz feel a bit of a bellend but life goes on. Great game though congrats on all involved.”
On Wednesday, in his pre-match press conference ahead of United's Europa League clash with Bodo/Glimt, Amorim chuckled as he addressed the incident.
"I think you sometimes overcomplicate things. It was nothing," Amorim said, before going on to praise Keane.
"He was simply saying hello to one of the commentators, so for me it was nothing. I was thinking about the game and I was with Roy Keane,
"Roy Keane is the real star in that panel.
"So for me, it was really ok, it was nothing special."
United face Bodo/Glimt on Thursday in the Europa League before hosting Everton on Sunday in the Premier League.
