It was confirmed that Erik ten Hag was sacked as manager of Manchester United earlier today and since then Roy Keane has delivered a brutally honest take on the news.
The news was announced this morning following the Red Devils’ defeat at West Ham United.
The club currently sit 14th in the table having lost four out of nine league games.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is ‘working with the club’ on the next steps.
Ten Hag was retained in the summer, however with the club already losing touch of the European positions, the club have now made the decision to sack him.
Roy Keane then took to Instagram to offer some words of wisdom whilst out on a walk:
“In good teams, coaches hold players accountable. In great teams, players hold players accountable.”
The club released an official statement earlier: “Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager.
“Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.
“We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future.
“Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited.”
