It appears Ross Barkley is about to join Chelsea.

According to several reports, the Everton midfielder is having a medical with the Premier League champions ahead of a £15m move from Everton. Barkley has yet to play this season, as he recovers from a hamstring injury, and earlier this year he rejected a new contract to stay at Goodison Park. Chelsea are going to pay £15m to secure the 24-year-old this month. What was once a world record transfer fee, when Alan Shearer cost Newcastle United £15m from Blackburn Rovers in 1996, is now a "cut-price" fee for a midfielder available for free in a few months, and who will undoubtedly become a squad player at Stamford Bridge. Barkley is an Everton academy graduate. He played 179 times for the club and scored 27 goals.
