Roma supporter Daniele Sciusco has been jailed for two-and-a-half years following an attack on Liverpool fan Sean Cox.
The 53-year-old Meath native was left in a critical condition following an attack outside the Albert Pub near Anfield before Liverpool's Champions League semi-final first leg with Roma.
Two Roma fans - Filippo Lombardi and Daniele Sciusco - were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder for their part in the altercation while Cox was sent to Walton Neurological Centre where he received further treatment.
Lombardi will stand trial later this year while Sciusco admitted to violent disorder.
Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp found time on Liverpool's recent trip to Dublin to pay a visit to Cox's family while the players also gathered in the centre circle of the Aviva Stadium to unveil a banner displaying a message of support for him after the final whistle against Napoli.

Cox's recovery has been slow, but he has emerged from his coma. Prosecutors at Sciusco's trial did not, however, that Cox was still in 'dire condition'.
When he regained consciousness three months after the attack, messages of support came pouring in from Liverpool fans and supporters of all clubs.
