A terrible blow to the Ireland captain and the family of Alan Harris.

Authorities confirmed Harris as the man that lost his life in Dublin on Wednesday. It is believed that Harris, a father of two from Dublin and a cousin of the Republic of Ireland star, was overcome by fumes while carrying out maintenance work on underground pipes at Drumnigh Wood housing estate, Portmarnock. His brother, Stephen Harris, tried to rescue him before but his attempts proved unsuccessful. The LA Galaxy striker posted a tribute to Alan Harris on Facebook last night. Robbie Keane Facebook Roy Keane, Ireland's assistant manager, noted the professionalism of his namesake as he took a committed part in the session ahead of Saturday's game with Scotland.
