Of course as he started to make appearances for the first team, his allegiance became fully changed, to the point where the Merseyside Derby was the game he looked forward to playing in the most, just to get one over on Everton.
So, after a career that saw him play for Liverpool over 600 times, win several trophies, and cement his name as one of the best centre backs in the club's history, it's fair to say that Evertonians aren't his biggest fan.

Carragher, being Carragher, put out a Tweet pointing to all of the 'heroes' that Everton have had this season, something which was a little tongue and cheek.
One Everton star however, clearly had enough of Carragher's jibes, and at 1:37am last night, Richarlison tweeted the former Liverpool player exactly what he thought of him.
"@Carra23 wash your mouth before you talk about me and Everton, and I don't respect you."
