Richard Keys latest conspiracy theory about Jamie Carragher may be his best yet

Richard Keys has a fresh conspiracy theory, and it's an absolute belter.

The former Sky Sports presenter said in the past that his exit from the broadcasting company was the result of 'dark forces' at play in the organisation, and that Jamie Redknapp 'lost the plot' a number of times off screen. He also claimed Steven Gerrard's upcoming exit from Liverpool was masterminded by Brendan Rodgers, as the manager sought to exert his control over the club. Now Keys is claiming that Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher does not control his own Twitter account, and allows an unnamed friend to tweet on his behalf. Celebrity Twitter accounts being run by third parties isn't unusual, but it's not so common with former footballers. Particularly a high-profile media presence such as Carragher, who regularly tweets during games and interacts with fellow Twitter users. However, Keys warns the former Liverpool player that his 'mate', who secretly controls the account, could soon cause him trouble. The beIN Sports presenter posted an entry on his personal blog yesterday about Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling, titled 'Raheem Sterling is well within his rights', and writes about how he believes the player will eventually leave the club. 'I've read everything on this saga since the debate first surfaced,' Keys writes. "I've listened to everything that's been said and I haven't changed my mind - he'll go". However, Keys diverges during the post, turning his attention to Carragher. "A few words of warning," Keys writes. "Jamie Carragher has hammered Sterling on Twitter. (Or has he? I hear Jamie doesn't actually run his account. His mate does. Careful Jamie, he's going to get you into trouble soon) and this has had the effect of turning the Anfield crowd on Sterling. How does that help?" After casually dropping that bombshell on the world, Keys returns to the topic of Sterling's contact dispute, saying: "The bottom line is this - Liverpool are going to HAVE to pay Sterling what he wants. If they don't they lose him - and what does that tell us about their ambitions to re-join not just the domestic elite, but the European elite?" We can only hope the next blog post on Keys' blog, 'Your key to sport', shines more light on his claim that Carragher's account is controlled by a phantom presence. Safe to say, we can't wait.
