The average Premier League salary has been revealed and, in simplistic terms, it is a bundle. A heap; a lot; a wedge. According to a study carried out for The Daily Mail, the average wage for a player in the Premier League is £44,000 (€60,180) a week. This adds up to £2.29m (€3.13m) a year. The study, which lists Wayne Rooney as the league's highest earner, has interesting breakdowns of each club. Here are some tidbits.The average weekly wage in the Manchester City senior squad was £96,445. After the study was conducted, City signed Raheem Sterling (£190k p/w) and Kevin de Bruyne (£170k p/w). Andrew Ayew is Swansea's highest paid player this season (£48,000 a week) Burnley's highest earner, last season, was George Boyd (£18,000 a week) Manchester United had an wage bill of £215m for the 2013-14 season. They finished seventh that season.
