Gareth Bale has had a tough time of things since arriving in Madrid.
Despite helping Los Blancos finally win their 10th Champions League title in his first season in the Spanish capital, the Bernabeu faithful (oxymoron intended) have yet to fully warm to the Welshman.
Part of the trouble Bale has found in winning over Madrid fans comes with his failure to reach the same heights as Cristiano Ronaldo – despite the very obvious hindrance of the Portuguese captain still being involved in the team.
One way the former Tottenham man could endear himself to the club's supporters would be to do the business against bitter rivals Barcelona.
Bale found the back of the net with a stunning solo Clásico goal in his first season in Spain, but since then he has had a remarkable three seemingly legitimate goals disallowed against the Catalans.
