Well, it won't exactly be easy to find someone happy enough to sit on the bench behind Rooney all season.

Radamel Falcao's perilous-looking Manchester United career looks like it might be thrown a bit of a lifeline with reports that the club are ready to extend the Colombian's loan stay. Louis van Gaal has the striker's services until the end of the season but the four-goal wonder could be staying on at Old Trafford until at least January. The Daily Mirror are reporting that United are 'open to the prospect of prolonging his loan spell'. Falcao has been averaging a goal in every six league appearances in Manchester but, with the Dutch boss looking to have found a bit of a settled 11 after spending most of the campaign tinkering, Wayne Rooney is his main and lone front man and he needs only a back up for the club captain. Apparently the Monaco forward has proven his worth at sitting on the bench and saying nothing.
