The 25-year-old's dipping 25-yard strike found the top corner to put the tournament hosts within one game of their first Copa success, with Argentina or Paraguay awaiting in the final.

Vargas earlier gave Chile the lead and will leave frustrated QPR supporters wondering where this form was after the player scored just four times in 21 games while on loan at relegated Rangers last season.
